    homemade fishing lures

A friend of mine who's into fishing made these fishing jig lures

He made a mold out of plaster, cast it out of aluminum. Then he poured lead in the aluminum molds. Finally he bondoed, sanded, glued some holographic paper and sprayed the castings. He did everything but the model.

I helped him to spray with my old trusty homemade compressor

That's the first ones he makes, they're not flawless but the fishes shouldn't complain

I can't see the pictures either, but it sounds pretty cool.

Those lures look pretty sharp. Are you saying they are made of lead? Does that mean they will ride near the bottom as you reel them in? Maybe they are for saltwater fish?

They are indeed for saltwater fish from 5lbs to 30lbs (or more). They are made out of an alloy from lead and zinc. I'm not a fisherman myself but as I understand they let it sink down and jig it back to them. It's called "jigging" if I'm correct.
