Pouring consistent cast iron is tricky.

I can pour cast iron inconsistently, with random results, but I can never count on the outcome.

I have a number of new tricks I will try this year to try to make melting and pouring cast iron more routine (like aluminum), and one of the tricks is this new low-mass keg furnace.

I have been carefully observing how others successfully pour iron, including ironsides, scavenger and one other guy I know who has 200 (+) successful iron pours, and I have made lots of notes.

And I have aquired 1,000 lbs of clean scrap iron, so I am definitely ready to begin some serious iron experiments.
