    Found Some Pistons

I found a set of 8 pistons at the dump. They are forged, not cast. What is the likely alloy and will it be good for casting?

I would measure the bore size pin dia, and height then slap them on e bay before melting. They will likely cast like sh!t...

They are all damaged in some small way. So forgings are bad?

    Edit:
Yes google says they are very similar to extrusions. Oh well. I will add them to some wheelium.

Yea, forged pistons usually begin life as an extruded rod and then are smooshed into piston. Damaged or not, I would still slap them on e bay. Likely worth more as wall hangers than scrap metal...Thoes are pretty much a drag race piston.

They are 'slipper' pistons usually used in a race engine, they don't last because of the slop in the bore.
