Seen this? - handheld CNC router

A guy working on fixing up a big machine tool.

But it gets even more interesting when he starts using a handheld CNC router at around 3:20 to make the parts he needs. At least it was to me. I haven't looked into CNC much so maybe this handheld one is old news, but I thought it was pretty cool what this thing can do. The augmented reality is neat stuff, but can you catch pokemons on it?

WOW! That is really cool! I love the innovations that we are seeing lately with tech that 10 years ago was hard to fathom in the home workshop.

I still bet its going to be a fairly pricey investment. He mentions that the unit hes using is a beta model, and the production version will have added features....why? It seems pretty capable, and I actually kind of love the simplicity.

I looked it up after hearing some podcasters talk about seeing one at Maker Faire this year. Guys running the demo reprtedly seemed confident about it going to market by this fall. We'll see...

A sick and contrary part of my underbrain wants to see someone figure out how to chuck one of these up in it to convert it to a handheld CNC 3D printer...:

I'm assuming it can only cope with so much deviation from the path before it runs out of corrective travel.

    Interesting none the less.
