I have had problems with permanent links from Google. Unless you research it and find a fool proof way, I would try Flickr. It's pretty easy to copy a link and it never changes.

I will look into that, thanks. Hopefully it is an easy to figure out interface like photobucks...

Razortoe, the spideroak thing is tempting, but I guess I still haven't learned my lesson about free services that only need a couple clicks to get you going... No doubt you'll get your chance to tell me you told me so when Flickr or wherever I land pulls a photobucket in a couple years.

Do we have a final solution for posting photos

For some reason my photobucket links seem to be still working

Has there been a new best way to post photos found?

The best places I know of are:

Use the storage space here on AA, and keep the photos smaller than 50 to 60 kbs.
Use the free server storage that comes with your DSL internet service.
Get an account with Spider Oak and use the huge amount of space that the account has. It is also a back-up service extraordinaire. It backs up your data as you change it, automatically. The cost is small.

It is unwize to trust another site to host images for your posts here. Sooner or later the other site will change policies or shut down. Just my opinion but in this case I feel it's valid.

They haven't shut off everyone's free hosting all at once, but it is probably only a matter of time before you get hit too. Don't know of any new options for hosting photos to post here being discussed yet, other than what's above.
